Dialogue 283 Heart sutra & my philosophy Buddhism is religion but the teaching of Buddha is not religion. Buddha did neither agree with the existence of god nor the theory of incarnation. The heart sutra which was the essence of Buddha’s teaching is not dogma but a glimpse of truth. The most famous clause of heart sutra is “All is vanity and Vanity is all”. All = This world, Vanity = That world. This world becomes that world instantly, and that world becomes this world instantly. In another expression, It said that do not misunderstand that the world you live is this world and the world after you die is that world but do understand that this world becomes that world instantly if you are aware. “All is vanity and Vanity is all” meant that this world (All) and that world (Vanity) are not different (above and below) world but this world (All) is “the world of image” = motion picture (animation) and that world (Vanity) is “the world of substance (reality)” = motion film (still frame films) which projects this world (All) = “the world of image” = motion picture (animation). And finally, the heart sutra said that “go beyond, go beyond and you will reach “the world of understanding”. In another expression, Go beyond: “the world of subjective” = “the world of thinking (concept)” = “the world of image” = “the world of relative” = “the world of motion” = “the world of dualism” = “the world of circumference” = “the world of life” = “the world of religion” = “the world of science” = “the world of god” = “the world of politics” = “the world of economics” = “the world of history” = “the world of anxiety, agony and finally fear of death” = “the world of discrimination, unfair and wars” = “the world of fatality” And you will reach: “the world of subjective/objective” = “the world of understanding” = “the world of reality” = “the world of absolute/relative” = “the world of stillness/motion” = “the world of trinity” = “the world of ending point” = “the world of death” = “the world beyond religion” = “the world beyond science” = “the world beyond god” = “the world beyond politics” = “the world beyond economics” = “the world beyond history” = “the world beyond anxiety, agony and finally fear of death” = “the world beyond discrimination, unfair and wars” = “the world of fatality/incident”.
