Dialogue 447 Perfectness of five senses =Potentiality Five senses are organ called skins (border line) which divide into self and others. It is like border line between countries. It is like border line between lands. Border line is just a concept which is not substantial. Therefore, Five senses are not substantial. Five senses are just border lines which divide into internal and external. Then, Is there a division between internal and external? It is obvious that division between internal and external was born of five senses perfectness�fs difference. For instance, Division (Difference) between internal body and external body can be born of our human beings�f sight power but can not be born of sight power of microscope. This is nothing but the difference of perfectness of view. In other words, It is possible for the perfectness of microscope sight power to see the total view point but not possible for the perfectness of human beings�f sight power. Therefore, The division between internal and external can not be born of total view point. The division between internal and external can be born of partial view point. Furthermore, The total view point is nothing but the total feeling. It is because there is no �gthinking (viewing)�h without division between internal and external. The partial view point is nothing but the partial view. It is because there is �gthinking (viewing)�h with division between internal and external. This is the reason why there is only total feeling and partial view. The partial view (The division between self and others) can be born of difference of perfectness of five senses. The total feeling can be born of perfect function of five senses and the partial view can be born of imperfect function of five senses. Only we human beings have the partial view born of division between self and others and can not attain enlightenment because of our imperfect (not 100 % potentiality) function of five senses.
