Chapter 14 Double-edged sword It is a way of merit-oriented thinking for intelligence to push up (evolve) mankind. It is a way of demerit-oriented thinking for intelligence to push down (degrade) mankind. We human beings have no choice but to live with anxiety, agony and finally the fear of death because we have been assuming intelligence to be only merits. You will be able to unify science, religion and philosophy if you realize that it is a double-edged sword. Actually scientists who deny religion and philosophy donft know anything and religionists and philosophers who disregard science know nothing. The happy cannot understand how the unhappy feel; the unhappy cannot understand how the happy feel. The good cannot understand how the bad feel; the bad cannot understand how the good feel. The wise cannot understand how the fool feel; the fool cannot understand how the wise feel. The ruler cannot understand how the ruled feel; the ruled cannot understand how the ruler feel.
